“We have to dare to be ourselves, however frightening or strange that self may prove to be.” ― May Starton
Well Howdy do fellow Slicers!
This is my first experience in the Slice of Life Challenge and I am both excited and incredibly nervous. Writing for others (especially those that I work with or for) is definitely out of my comfort zone. But then again, so has the last three years of my life and frankly, if given a second chance, I would change nothing. The past three years have been quite a roller coaster for me but has made me realize that I’m a much stronger person than I thought I was, which will provide inspiration for the next 31 days of writing, fingers crossed.
Writing has always been weakness of mine (notice the unnecessary use commas, lots of parenthesis, unfortunate grammar). In fact, now that I think of it, I don’t think I have written 31 essays in my entire life! Ugh, is it too late to quit? However, telling stories in an entertaining, truthful with a bit of exaggeration, and sometimes inappropriate fashion is probably the greatest strength I have. Those who are not entertained by my stories need not read any more of my slices. I understand I’m a particular taste and this flavor is not for all!
P.S.I also love quotes! So hopefully, if I don’t get lazy, you will find 31 amazing new quotes to live by and I will have 31 pieces of inspiration to write by!
Ummm… I was super excited to see your name pop up as a slicer! Love the quote and am looking forward to the next month of your slices! Welcome to slicing. You’re going to love it!

You may think writing is a weakness, but what I read is a great deal of voice and fun that will be coming my way for the next 31 (and possibly every Tuesday forever more). What a perfect quote to fit with the text today. I must confess, I am in awe of those who use quotes, not my strength. Welcome to this world!

WOW! I feel the same way and deciding to take that step to slice was a little insane. I also love telling stories but putting them into written form Is scary as hell considering my writing sometimes reflects the fact that I teach 3-5 year olds. I look forward to reading your future posts.
